When vacuuming or mopping always start from the top and work towards the exits so you don’t leave marks. Work back towards a door and avoid stepping on the areas you have just cleaned.
Hardwood floors demand special care in order to keep them looking shiny and attractive. Since wood is a porous material, the rule of thumb is: the less water, the better. That means, hardwood floors should be mopped with a well-wrung out mop or soft rag.
But to start with, fill up a bucket with cool (never hot) tap water and mix in a mild cleaner that’s suitable for most hardwood floors.
Why not hot water? It can dissolve wax, for one reason. It can also cause your floors to streak.
Ensure you vacuum and mop under all beds. This eliminates you from breathing dust when you are sleeping.
Vacuum and flip your mattress over to provide even wear.
In our opinion wood wax is best to use on furniture because it seals the wood and does not attract dust whereas an oil or spray will look good for a little while BUT it attracts dust within hours
